Why I Don't Care What Zillow Says

Everyone wants to know what their home is "worth" online.

But

an algorithm can't walk through your property, understand price per sqft street by street, know the ins and out of your condo association, limitations within your condo,  understand buyer psychology, or truly compare what actually sold.

It’s a computer.

It’s an algorithm that is fed with all sale history based on zip code. It generates a number based on pictures compared to what it assumes your home may look like, averages everything out. It’s a machine that makes money by keeping you on their website, longer, and using referrals who they recommend where money generated traces back to them by way of referral fees and commissions on pay to play profiles.

Zillow found a way to insert themselves into  the most expensive transaction in a persons life.
